Welcome to the Northern Sydney Cycling Club
We are a road cycling club based around the Thornleigh and Hornsby areas of Sydney's North Shore. We are a social and road racing club with a history dating back 70 years. We run regular criterium road races on sundays and public holidays at Beaumont Road, Mt Ku-ring-gai throughout the year and all grades are catered for. Riders must be a member of a ACF affiliated club such as ours to race. Go to the racing page for more information.
Club members also meet for regular bunch training rides throughout the week and weekends and anyone is welcome to join in and meet other club members. Riding in bunchs is a great way to meet other cyclist, stay motivated and learn the bicycle skills neccesary to ride safely on the roads and in race situations. If you are interested in joining our cycling club then go to our memberships page for more detailed information.
29/6/09 *** PLEASE READ IMPORTANT *** A friendly reminder for early morning riders. Although we have passed the winter solstice (shortest day) the mornings and evenings are still very dark. While we encourage you all to wear your club kit on training rides,
PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARE EASILY VISIBLE ON THE ROAD. Law indicates at least one front and one rear light is required at night, BUT TWO rear lights (in case one fails
without you knowing) is better than one and investing in a good front light (recommend something like a
NiteRider or simillar) is well worth the money. LED's are more suited for emergency scenarios. Regular riders should consider a larger option.
Also, if riding in the dark, it may be good to
also wear some kind of fluro vest or rain jacket
